Sumitomo Chemical is one of Japan’s leading chemical manufacturers, offering a diverse range of products. The Fine Chemical business was expanded in 2004 by the merger with Sumika Fine Chemicals. Fine chemical operations include custom synthesis for life sciences and specialty chemical markets. Custom manufacturing for the pharmaceutical industry is carried out at multi-purpose facilities in Japan including several FDA-inspected cGMP plants in Gifu, Okayama, Oita & Osaka. Specialty raw materials such as phosgene, hydrogen cyanide, and cyanogen chloride are available for fine chemical manufacturing at two plants in Ehime. All Sumitomo manufacturing locations operate under ISO 9001 and 14001.
